TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu’s latest decision to appoint Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao as the party’s pointsman to interact with the leaders of other parties has raised hackles in the party. Many are questioning this decision as Uma is not known to be very communicative with the people.
Former minister Devineni Uma is known for his steadfast support to the TDP and its boss Chandrababu Naidu. But, he is not known for befriending people . Even those within the party feels that Uma is essentially a loner. He is not known to have been seen openly conversing with any leader. Such being the case, how can Chandrababu appoint him as the incharge for party’s relations with other friendly parties?
But insiders say that this was Chandrababu’s manner of cajoling sulking party workers. Uma was miffed ever since he was not given a place in the party’s key politburo. To cajole him, Chandrababu has given him this post. This new post practically means nothing as the TDP does not have any friendly party either in Telangana or in AP. So, does this mean that this is just a lollypop to silence a crybaby? Let’s wait and watch.
