Megastar Chiranjeevi, who has been shooting for Koratala Siva’s Acharya, has two remake projects in his kitty. The Malayalam film Lucifer, starring Mohanlal, will be remade into Telugu with Chiranjeevi in the lead role.
The film, which will be directed by Mohan Raja, has been in the news for a while for various reasons. However, now the line is clear for the big project to go floors.
As per reports, the makers have fixed the date for the launch of the film on January 21. Meanwhile, the speculation is that lady superstar Nayanthara has been roped in to play a pivotal role. The film also has Satya Dev Kancharana stepping into the shoes of Tovino Thomas.
The political drama will be produced by NV Prasad and Konidela Productions. The rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced.
Starring Mohanlal, Lucifer was the directorial debut of star actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in the Malayalam industry at the time.
