Political heat prevailed in the Srikakulam district. A series of incidents such as the destruction of statues of leaders and indecent remarks on freedom fighters have caused concern. The recent arrest of a TDP social media member in Palasa has heated up the politics in Srikakulam.
TDP leaders have complained to SP Amit Bardhar that TDP social media member Lakkoju Vinod was illegally arrested and charged in Palasa. YCP leaders have lodged a complaint with the police station against TDP leaders over the setting up of a Nandi statue in Santhabommali.
Leaders of Telugu Desam alleged that the DSP and CIs of Palasa registered illegal cases on him with the encouragement of Minister Appalaraju. TDP leaders appealed to SP Amit Bardhar for a comprehensive investigation.
