Sukumar‘s protege Buchi Babu Sana scored a thumping hit with his debut film, Uppena. The Vaisshnav Tej and Krithi Shetty starrer is minting big profits for everyone involved.
If the latest reports are to be believed, Sukumar is set to pocket big bucks for orchestrating Uppena.
Going into the story, Mythri Movie Makers agreed to share around half of Uppena’s profits with Sukumar even before the project materialised. In return, he was asked to supervise every aspect of the project, including the scripting, editing supervision, and bringing star actors like Vijay Sethupathi on-board.
Sukumar patiently worked on Uppena and supported his former associate Buchi Babu to the fullest. Infact, he was the one who arranged the first meeting between Buchi Babu and Vaisshnav Tej.
Now that Uppena is set to collect over Rs 50 crores share, Sukumar will be pocketing around about Rs 20-22 crores for his efforts. He certainly would not have expected such fireworks from the Buchi Babu Sana directorial.
