Drishyam, a fascinating thriller starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu was a huge hit in Hindi too. Helmed by Kumar Mangat and bankrolled by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the movie was well received by the film buffs and critics.
Now the hearsay is that film maker Kumar Mangat is eyeing to make a sequel of it with Ajay Devgn and Tabu reprising their roles under his own banner Panorama Studios and seemed to have landed n legal trouble.
Reportedly, Viacom 18 that has complete legal rights have issued him notices regarding the making rights of Drishyam 2 – The Resumption.
Mangat spoke to a news agency with the notice that his production house Panorama Studios has acquired the legal rights of the film and will continue to make it by hook or by crook. The Viacom 18 Motion Pictures’ spokesperson however has asserted that Kumar Mangat has no right to make the film independently or without their association.
This issue between Kumar Mangat and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures is stirring up more confusion whether Mangat is likely to continue or seek their permission.
