Inside Story: Covid showing adverse effects on Tollywood

The onset of Covid second wave is showing adverse effects on Tollywood in more ways than one. Shooting schedules have been messed and so are the release plans of multiple biggies.

The makers of Prabhas’s Adipurush planned to resume the shoot at a specially erected set in Hyderabad but they are facing situation. Lead technicians and crew members are fearing Covid transmission and are not ready to join the sets just yet. The makers of the mythological epic are reconsidering their plans now.

Nani’s Tuck Jagadish had wrapped up shoot and there is some minor post-production pending. It is said that the post-production will take more time than anticipated as many film labs have shut operations due to Covid.

Akhil’s Most Eligible Bachelor is in final leg of shoot and a small portion is left to be shot. Incidentally, Allu Aravind has asked the team not to rush things up and suggested them to get back to work only after normalcy is restored.

As for RRR, a few sequences are still pending and Ram Charan, Jr NTR, and Rajamouli are raring to get back to sets. But they are not willing to take any unnecessary risks for the time being, given the pandemic situation.

Almost each and every film is being impacted by Covid in one way or the other and it is really tough to predict when the situation brightens up.
