A lot of private companies are hugely profiting from the large-scale oil deposits in Konaseema. Last year, these companies had promised to help the people living in the surrounding areas of these oil deposits, that they would help them out during the ongoing crisis, brought upon by coronavirus. These companies made huge promises during the first wave, saying that they would establish medical facilities in the area, at a cost of Rs. 200 Crores.
However, fact remains that these companies cannot do a single thing if all CSR funds keep draining into the PM Cares funds and CMRF funds. Large-scale funds from these companies are being deposited into the PM Cares funds and CMRF, which is leaving them in a position where they are not able to help the people in the Konaseem area.
People belonging to Konaseema are suffering badly due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. There’s not even a proper ambulance service in these areas, resulting in the death of several people. If the situation in the Konaseema area is left unattended to, then lakhs of people will die. Jana Sena Chief brought all of this to the forefront in a letter that he wrote recently, demanding all these oil companies to immediately fulfil their promises.
The dire situation that is prevalent in Andhra Pradesh can be clearly understood by the words of YSRCP leaders themselves, in the video that was leaked recently. What Pawan brought to the forefront is a valid point, and it is high time that these oil companies deliver on their promises.
