Cash-for-vote Scandal: After ACB Court, Telangana High Court shocks Revanth Reddy!

Telangana firebrand MP, TPCC Working President Revanth Reddy is facing back-to-back blows over the much-talked-about ‘cash-for-vote scandal that rocked the Telugu states in 2015.

Earlier last week, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had opened a charge-sheet in connection with the scam and mentioned the MP, who was the then Telugu Desam Party(TDP) leader Revanth Reddy as the main accused.

On Tuesday, the MP had knocked the doors of the Telangana High Court with a petition which claims that the scandal won’t come under the jurisdiction of the ACB and it falls under the purview of the Election Commission.

The High Court shocked the MP by rejecting the petition filed by him in this regard. While rejecting the petition, the High Court said, the ACB can probe the cases where politicians are involved in the cases of bribery.

Earlier, the MP moved the Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) court with a petition claiming the same reason. But the court rejected the petition, now it’s the High Court’s turn to turn down the petition.

Revanth Reddy was named as the prime accused in the scandal, as the Telangana ACB sleuths caught Revanth Reddy back in 2015, while he was offering money to MLA Stephenson to cast his vote in favor of the TDP candidate in the Legislative Council polls.
