Former Health Minister of Telangana and TRS member Etela Rajender recently joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi, in the presence of JP Nadda, the National President of BJP. Following Etela’s joining the BJP, there have been several speculations that Peddi Reddy, a former member of the TDP, was considering leaving the BJP for the TRS.
It was suggested that Reddy took this decision as he felt that his position in the party would be questionable, with the involvement of Etela. It was also said that Reddy considered this option because he wanted to contest from Huzurabad in the by-polls, and Etela’s involvement would question that.
For whatever reasons though, Reddy decided to continue in BJP, and clarified with the media today that he never considered joining the TRS, and doesn’t even know where the CM’s farmhouse is. Furthermore, he said that even KCR could join the BJP, and he would be more than welcome in the party, as the BJP is more than just individuals. Reddy also said that many from the BJP are ready to contest from Huzurabad and that the decision will be made of who the candidate is, right before the elections.
