As per the education policy, schools in AP to be classified into six categories!

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy chaired a key meeting at his camp office in Tadepalli to review the new education policy with the key officials on Wednesday. During the meeting, he issued key directives to the concerned officials.

CM Jagan said that the state-run schools will be classified into six types and based on this the teachers should be appointed. The appointments should be made on the grounds of the students’ ratio, the Chief Minister said.

“The Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme will be launched on the 16th of this month from the West Godavari district. The teachers should be appointed concerning the students’ strength in the respective schools. The experience and skills of the teachers should be used,” CM Jagan said.

According to the new education policy of Andhra Pradesh, the schools will be classified into six cataegories_ Satellite schools( PP-1, PP2), Foundation Schools( PP-1, PP-2. 1, 2), Foundation Plus Schools( PP1 to up to the fifth standard), Pre High Schools( 3rd standard to 7th or 8th standard). High Schools( 3rd to 10th standard). High School Plus( 3rd standard to 12th standard).

Having said that, the Chief Minister directed that skilled teachers should be appointed for the students from 3rd standard. The medium of instruction will be in English, while Telugu will be made a compulsory subject, he added.
