Telakapalli Ravi rejects YSR Life Time Achievement Award

The Andhra Pradesh government has recently announced YSR Life Time Achievement and Achievement Awards for outstanding individuals who have shown talent in various fields. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the AP government announced these awards. CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would present the awards on August 13.

The YSR Lifetime Achievement Award carries a cash prize of Rs. 10 lakh and the Achievement award carries Rs 5 lakh. However, Senior journalist Telakapalli Ravi, who was chosen for the AP government’s lifetime achievement award, on Thursday rejected it citing no reasons for his denial.

The CPM-tilted journalist, however, thanked the state and the award selection committee for choosing him for the prominent award. He issued a press release regarding the same.

Telakapalli Ravi is the second journalist after senior journalist Palagummi Sainath to reject the award announced by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
