It is known that many films in Tollywood have shifted their release dates from January as SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus is arriving in the same month. Since RRR is a pan-India film, which is having a grand release in multiple languages, even other languages heroes are avoiding the competition with Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer and clearing the path for the release.
Now, Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film ‘Gangubai Khatiawadi’ too moved out of the race. In order to avoid box-office losses due to the gigantic RRR, the makers of Gangubai Khatiawadi have postponed the release to February 18. The film was originally slated for Jan 06, 2022 release.
Appreciating their decision to shift the film’s release, director Rajamouli took to his Twitter to thank Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The Baahubali director wrote. “The decision by Mr. @JayantilalGada and Mr. #SanjayLeelaBhansali to move their release date is well appreciated. Our heartfelt wishes to #GangubaiKathiawadi.”
RRR is slated for a massive release on January 7, 2022. The film is produced by DVV Danayya of DVV Entertainments. The periodic drama also stars Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody and Ray Stevenson.
