Police were dumbfound when they found Rs. 2 lakh in the bag of an aged beggar woman. This beggar lives in Davanagere area of Karnataka. She carries 3 or 4 bags with her always. She sleeps in the trash dumped in the area. Municipal authorities who were clearing the trash, found the bags. When they opened them, they found the money.
When they asked the woman, she said it was her hard earned money through begging. As the money was in small coins, police came to the conclusion that it was genuinely hers. They opened a bank account in her name and deposited the money in it. They also admitted the woman in a home for the aged.
