His most-anticipated project ’83’ is hitting the screens on 24th December worldwide.The trailer got unanimous applause and this biopic of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev showcases the journey of Indian Cricket team who won the World Cup in 1983 and surpassed everyone’s expectations.
Directed by Kabir Khan who made films like ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Bhajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Phantom’ and others, this project has been made on a grand scale and people are very excited to watch it. But sources say that ’83’ has landed in the middle of a legal battle due to its producers.
United Arab Emirates Financial Company has filed a cheating case on the producers of ’83’ in the Magistrate court. A case was filed at Future Resources FZE Andheri Metropolitan Magistra court. According to it, ‘FZE’ company decided to invest in films and approached ‘Vibri Media’.
Apparently, the former invested 16 crores and it was used as investment by Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan and Deepika Padukone for producing the film without the consent of FZE. Lawyer Rizwaan Siddiquee filed a case on the producers saying that it was cheating and criminal conspiracy. Let us wait and see what happens in the coming days.
