There is no denying that the Telugu film industry is in a dilemma over film ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh. The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has been reluctant to hike the prices, arguing that cinema should be made available to all kinds of audiences.
While there are many big movies lined up for release in theatres, the number of theatres closing down is also rising due to decreased film tickets prices. Film theatres owners are not happy to run theatres with reduced prices as they bring them no profits except losses.
Amid these circumstances, Tollywood’s ace producer Dil Raju has announced that they have set up a committee under the auspices of the Film Chamber to hold talks with the AP government. Details of committee members will be announced soon. The producer hopes that a good response will come after the committee discusses with the Jagan government. Dil Raju also advised the film fraternity not to make any comments on the ticket prices until the talks are held.
On the other side, the distributors in the state are also planning to meet AP Cinematography Minister Perni Nani to discuss their plight due to decreased film tickets prices.
