Telangana Chief Minister, KCR, is reportedly not going to be contesting from the constituency of Gajwel in the upcoming elections anymore and might contest from another constituency. The exact reasons for this are not yet known, but several speculations are doing the rounds. Vanteru Pratap Reddy’s name is predominantly being heard as the potential candidate for Gajwel, in KCR’s stead. Vanteru contested against KCR in Gajwel, from the Congress party, in the 2014 and 2018 elections, despite their rivalry, KCR invited Vanteru into the TRS with open arms.
Vanteru is currently chairperson of the Forest Development Corporation and is also the in-charge of the Gajwel constituency on behalf of KCR. According to the latest reports, KCR recently held a meeting with MLC Yadav Reddy, Pratap Reddy, district collector and some other close confidants at his farmhouse, where he discussed changing his constituency. KCR is also said to have requested MLC Yadav Reddy to cooperate with Vanteru and ensure his victory.
On the other hand, sources are saying that KCR might decide to contest from either Siddipet or Dubbaka this time, and request Harish Rao to take up another constituency. KCR has reportedly made up his mind to make sure that the BJP’s candidate, Raghunandan, doesn’t win from Dubbaka, which is why either he or Harish Rao might contest from the constituency. All in all looks like KCR is trying to make sure that the BJP doesn’t get any more victories in the state
