TPCC digital membership drive successful only in Revanths home turf

The Telangana Congress Committees ambitious digital membership campaign is fast proving to be a non starter. The seniors are completely inactive and the response to the campaign is lukewarm. At this rate the ambitious target of enrolling 30 lakh members appears to be a distant dream.

Though PCC chief Revanth Reddy is doing everything he can to enthuse the party workers to take up the digital membership with vigor and enthusiasm the response is none too encouraging. In many assembly constituencies the membership campaign is yet to begin. The leaders too appear to be not too serious about the membership drive.

In Revanths home turf of Kodangal in former Mahabubnagar district as many as 70000 members have been enrolled digitally. He is also working very hard to ensure that at least 30000 members are enrolled in at least 25 constituencies where the local leadership is supporting him. But in other constituencies the whole digital membership drive is a non starter.

In Sangareddy represented by TPCC working president Turpu Jagga Reddy not even 2000 members are enrolled. Even these numbers are courtesy party sympathizers. There are at least 35 constituencies where the membership is below 2000. Congress watchers say that the seniors are not getting involved in the membership drive as the credit of its success would go into Revanth Reddys account. On the whole the membership drive is still to pick pace.
