In a major relief for Congress leader and former MP Sircilla Rajaiah and his family members, the court exonerated them in the case relating to the death of his daughter in law Sarika and her children. The court found them not guilty and struck of the case against them. The latest verdict has come as a solace for the beleaguered MP.

On November 4, 2015, Rajaiah’s daughter in law and her three children were burnt to death in an early morning fire in the home. Based on the complaint of Sarika’s parents, Rajaiah, his wife, his son Anil were arrested and were lodged in Warangal Central Jail. While Anil was designated A 1, Rajaiah was designated A 2. His wife was designated A 3.

The police who investigated the case have claimed that the death was not a suspected murder. The Hyderabad based forensic lab has relealed that the death was due to the leakage of the LPG gas in the kitchen. The Nampally Special Court for People’s Representatives has given a ruling that Rajaiah and his family members did not have any role in the murder.

The court found no evidence that Rajaiah’s family was involved in the incident. It said that there was no evidence to prove the claims of the complainants. Thus Rajaiah has got a respite after seven years of the incident. Rajaiah, an NGO leader, was two-time MP from North Andhra and is a senior leader of the Congress.
