Balakrishna condoles Death of Legendary Director

While the Tollywood Film Industry is yet to come out of the sad news of the passing away of veteran producer Narayan Das Narang, the industry suffered another tragic incident as a legendary filmmaker breathed his last earlier today. In one day, the industry lost two eminent personalities.

Yesteryear filmmaker Tatineni Rama Rao, who had directed over 70 films in Telugu and Hindi passed away. Due to illness, he left us. He is 84 years old. His family members had shared the sad news with the utmost grief. He was among the few directors who tasted success in the Hindi industry too as a director.

The ace director has been living in Chennai since the 2000s. It is said that has been suffering from age-related issues. For the same reason, he breathed his last in Chennai. One after the other celebrities are reacting to the sad news and mourning his death.

Actor-turned-politician and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna had reacted to the news and said that he can’t believe the news that the legendary director is not with us. Recalling the service the director made for the industry and the variety of films he made, Balakrishna said his absence cannot be filled in the industry.

Balakrishna walked down memory lane and remembered the director’s working style. Balakrishna had dubbed the director as a rare technician who thinks about saving money for the producer without compromising on the output of the film. Balakrishna and Tatineni Rama Rao had worked for Talli Tandrulu. Released in 1991, the film had an ensemble cast and made good numbers at the box office.

The legendary director hails from Andhra Pradesh’s Kapileswarapuram. He was always fascinated by films. With his cousins already working in the film industry, he had an easy entry. After working as an assistant director under his cousin T. Prakash Rao and a few others, he donned the director’s cap in 1966 with Navarthri.

In his debut film itself, he had the opportunity to work with stalwarts like Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Mahanati Savithri. Later, he worked with NTR. Tatineni Rama Rao directed Yamagola, which gave inspiration to many such fantasy films. He even made successful films in Bollywood too.
