Talented Bollywood hero Ayushmann Khurrana who made a special name for himself with his script selection faced a setback with his last film ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’. Despite getting good reviews, the film failed badly at the box office. Now, he is arriving with another film named ‘Anek’ which is releasing on 27th May.
The trailer has been released a while ago and it is an untold story of an undercover cop set against the geopolitical backdrop of North East India. An action-thriller about a rebellion, an uprising. An Indian who wants nothing more than peace for the nation. Directed by Anubhav Sinha who made hard-hitting and message-oriented films like ‘Thappad’, ‘Mulk’ and ‘Article 15’, this film too tries to shed light on the situation in North East of India.
The premise looks very intriguing and the movie’s team decided to come up with some bold dialogues that ruffle the sensitivities of many. It refers to differences between North and South, how language is not important in this country, the situation faced by North Easterners as they are constantly compared to Nepalese and Chinese people. Ayushmann has definitely delivered a superb performance and the film has all the qualities to become a successful venture.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha, the story and dialogues were penned by Anubhav Sinha himself. He also wrote the screenplay in association with Sima Agarwal and Ysh Keswani. Ewan Mulligan is the director of photography while Yasha Jaidev is the editor. Anjum Rajabali is the screenplay writer. It will be streamed on Netflix later but it is going to hit the marquee on 27th May 2022.
