BJP mentally ready to snap ties with Pawan?

Bharatiya Janata Party appears to be mentally prepared to call it quits to the alliance with Jana Sena Party, headed by power star Pawan Kalyan, to fight the next assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.

The BJP state leadership is getting irritated over the comments made by Pawan Kalyan that he would not allow the split of anti-establishment vote in the state and the way he had responded to the statement of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on making sacrifices for the alliance.

Pawan made serious comments against the YSRC’s leaders allegation over the Jana Sena-TDP alliance.

“We have our own strategies in the interest of the state. Why are the YSRCP leaders bothered about our alliances? My sole objective is to pull down the Jagan government; but I am not interested in any posts,” he said.

Naturally, Pawan’s comments have not been taken kindly by the BJP leaders.

State BJP president Somu Veerraju made it clear that his party would have alliances with the people, not with parties.

“Our aim is to bring the BJP to power in the 2024 elections,” he said.

To a question whether there would be alliance between the TDP and Jana Sena, Veerraju said it should be answered by Pawan Kalyan, indicating that the BJP would take a call on the alliance with Jana Sena after getting clarity from Pawan Kalyan.

On the statement made by Naidu that he was ready to make sacrifices to achieve the goal of bringing down the Jagan government, the BJP state president said the BJP had already experienced such sacrifices in the past.

“We don’t need to depend on anybody’s sacrifices anymore,” he said, indicating that the BJP won’t join hands with the TDP.
