YCP Catering to BC Votes By Sending Strong Leader to RS?

For the past few days, there has been confusion on who will be sent to the Upper House Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh. Several names have popped up as the aspirants, but the Andhra Pradesh government prepared the list of four candidates looking at various parameters and issues.

As a surprising development, National Backward Classes Welfare Association president R. Krishnaiah was also picked as the nominee of Rajya Sabha from the YSRCP. No one would have thought about this as Krishnaiah hails from Telangana, the other Telugu state.

The BC leader, who is on cloud nine had showered praises on the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving him the opportunity. He said, despite him hailing from Telangana, he was given a chance by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. While the previous governments did not do much for the BCs, Jagan is helping BCs to empower, he said.

Krishnaiah is a strong BC leader who fights for the rights of BCs across the nation. BCs are a strong vote bank in many regions and catering to them will surely improve the winning chances of the parties. With the YSRCP facing some criticism on the taxes row, it will surely help the party.

Political experts say that, though Jagan wants to genuinely empower the BCs by offering them plum posts, his move will make wonders for the party in the coming polls. With reports saying that Janasena and TDP might join hands, YCP needs strong support, and BC votes could be that.
