Vishal’s Non-Stop Quest For Success Continues!

Tamil hero Vishal is a very familiar face in Telugu states. He has been dubbing his films for the past 17 years and some of them turned out to be big hits here. His movies get good reception in Telugu either in theatres or on television. He started on a good note with movies like ‘Chadarangam’, ‘Pandem Kodi’, ‘Bharani’, ‘Pogaru’ and a few turning out to be good hits. But most of his films tanked at the box office both in Telugu as well as Tamil.

He gradually lost his market in the Telugu states. Over the years, he has arrived with many interesting flicks like ‘Pooja’, ‘Detective’, ‘Indrudu’, ‘Palnadu’, ‘Rayudu’, ‘Jayasurya’, ‘Kathakali’ and many others but none of them were box office hits in Telugu market. His last two films ‘Enemy’ and ‘Saamanyudu’ too failed badly. But there seems to be no stopping for this Telugu-born Tamil hero as he is once again ready to test his luck with ‘Laathi’.

The first look of this film was released in April and it got a very good response. Director A Vinoth Kumar has reportedly penned a novel story with a racy screenplay and Peter Hein is the action choreographer. Sunaina will be seen playing the romantic interest of Vishal in this flick while Ramana and Nandha are bankrolling this project under ‘Rana Productions’ banner. Dhilip Subbarayan is the other stunt master and the second half is expected to have around 45 minutes of action sequences that will thrill the audience. Sam CS is the music composer while Pn Parthiban is the writer. Balasubramanian is the director of photography for this project.

While Suriya and Karthi have a very good market here, Vishal’s market has gone down completely despite his non-stop efforts. Experts claim that talented hero Siva Karthikeyan is slowly creating a solid market for himself in the Telugu states with movies like ‘Remo’, ‘Seemaraja’, ‘Varun Doctor’ and recently released ‘Don’ which is getting a very good response. They claim that he may push Vishal down the list and stand next to the big stars of Kollywood who have a good market in Telugu.
