Jagan to meet PM during Delhi visit?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is all set to visit Delhi on Thursday, scheduled to leave for the national capital from Vijayawada in the morning, and he is expected to stay in Delhi overnight and return to Vijayawada on Friday night. The exact purpose of his visit is unknown, with sources saying that the CM is going to Delhi on a special mission. The same sources have also said that Jagan has sought the PM’s appointment, to meet him on Thursday.

Jagan is expected to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discuss various issues regarding the state, including additional borrowings and revised expenditure for Polavaram, among many other issues. Jagan is also expected to confirm his party’s support for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) during the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections, which are scheduled to be held in July. Since the BJP is just short of a majority in these elections, it has sought the support of the BJD and the YSRCP for these elections, which Jagan is now expected to confirm.

Earlier, Jagan met Modi on April 5th, when they discussed in detail about the conditions of AP for 45 minutes and was expected to meet the PM once again on April 29th, during his visit to Delhi to attend the conference of the chief ministers and the chief justices of the high courts of the country, but that didn’t happen. It is now to be seen what Jagan and Modi will discuss, and what Jagan’s special mission in Delhi is.
