Dialogue King Mohan Babu who idolizes late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao started his political career with Telugu Desam Party floated by NTR. When the matinee idol invited Mohan Babu to the party, he accepted. However, he left TDP due to his issues with Nara Chandrababu Naidu and turned YSR supporter.
During the 2019 general elections, Mohan Babu openly supported YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and campaigned for him. Not just that, he even blasted Nara Chandrababu Naidu for not releasing the funds for the fees reimbursement and staged a protest which made him face a case and he reached the court in connection with the case.
Speaking to the media, Mohan Babu reportedly said that he is a BJP person and he is among the people who wanted to see the party at the centre. Several media reports said the same and his comments had surprised everyone.
Before the 2019 general elections, Mohan Babu joined the YCP and tried his best to campaign for Jagan’s party. However, Mohan Babu failed to get the fees reimbursement from the current Andhra Pradesh government. Unlike the previous government, Mohan Babu is not even complaining against Jagan.
In an interview, Mohan Babu diplomatically said that officials who are around Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are misguiding him and they are giving him wrong advice creating a gap between him and Jagan.
There is also a strong opinion that the fees reimbursement episode made Mohan Babu feel that he is being avoided in the party and there is no recognization for him despite him joining the YSRCP and the relation between his family and YSR family.
CM Jagan happens to be the brother-in-law of Manchu Vishnu as he married Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s niece Viranica Reddy. However, even the family relations could not help Manchu Mohan Babu in getting the fees reimbursement.
Looking at all these factors, Mohan Babu might have felt that being a YSRCP leader would not help him in any manner and decided to project himself as a BJP leader. Going by his comments he is a BJP person. His political career started with TDP and reached YSRCP and now ended with BJP.
