The OTTs are a game changer for many reasons. During the pandemic time, they became the one-stop destination for entertainment lovers. They have also opened a new window for movie lovers to Binge-watch web series and films of other languages, thanks for the subtitle option.
The platforms also gave big chance for the talent who could not rise to stardom to showcase their acting skills. For example, say Pankaj Tripathi. Though he has a film like Gangs of Wasseypur, the web series made him super popular. The same goes for veteran actor Shefali Shah.
She appeared on Netflix’s Delhi Crime and the series was a big hit. The award-winning series is all set to impress us for one more time as the second season will be streamed. Increasing the expectations, the OTT platform unveiled the teaser and it looks gripping.
Going by the title, the series revolves around crime and shows how the Delhi police crack the case. This time too, the series is going to offer an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Season two is based on a serious threat and we have to wait for the release of the series to know how the police deal with that.
With the teaser, Netflix hinted that it will deal with the crime rate in the national capital Delhi. It also highlights the issues faced by the cops who have to deal with a flood of cases that by the time they come to a conclusion in a case, another case pops up.
We will also get to see the frictions in the work life of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, played by Shefali Shah. In one scene, Shefali’s higher officer says that he cannot protect her anymore. It looks like, the case she deals with might result in her suspension.
Most of the investigation officers face the same issue. If something happens in the case investigation, he/she gets suspended and another officer takes charge. We have to wait and see what are the situations that put the DCP in the middle of the problematic situation.
The crime drama series Delhi Crimes is a Netflix original created and helmed by Richie Mehta. It is jointly bankrolled by Golden Karavan; Ivanhoe Productions; FilmKaravan; Poor Man’s Productions.
