It is known that the shootings in the Tollywood film industry came to a halt as the producers took the call to look into the pending issues like the fewer footfalls at the theatres and the alleged threat posed by the OTT platforms. A few films bombed at the box office raising many fears.
To put an end to this, the Active Producers Guilt said that the shootings should be stopped. Despite the initial denial, other producer bodies supported the demand and stopped the shootings. Its been more than fifteen days since the shooting bandh came into effect in Tollywood.
Now the current developments hint that the status quo of the shoot bandh is likely to get changed as the industry is traveling on a good path. If this happens then it would be a piece of happy news for the industry and the producers in the industry.
After recording a disastrous July, Tollywood had a good start in August. As many as three films scored big hits. Bimbisara and Sita Ramam released on the same date gave good hope for the industry with good collections. The good time went forward with Karthikeya 2 hit as the Pan-India film is seeing good collections.
With three films helping the Tollywood industry record a hit August, it has been widely reported that the producers are in plans to put an end to the bandh. If everything goes well the shootings might resume next month. Producers might call for a key meeting in this regard.
