Timing and luck are two key factors in the film industry. The timing of one’s decision and luck favoring them are key to success. This is the same for any industry for that matter of fact. A young distributor learned this in a tough way after tasting back-to-back blows with his choice.
Young distributor from Nizam Warangal Srinu shot to super fame with films like Krack and Naandhi. Since then, he has been aggressively buying big films without shying away from paying big amounts. He did the same with Acharya and Liger. Both films brought him big losses.
The way he is buying rights made many draw comparisons with ace producer Dil Raju. However, Warangal Srinu ended up facing two big blows. Dil Raju has been a big name in Nizam for over 15 years and no one is able to come closer to him.
Despite facing a few flops, Dil Raju has better judgment and the same ability is making him sustain in Nizam for such a long period. Earlier the same situation arose where Dil Raju faced competition from Abhishek Nama.
After a few years, he reduced the number of films he distributes, while Dil Raju is getting bigger and bigger. He is now producing one of the biggest Pan-India films RC 15. Shankar is helming the project.
Film observers say that if the same trend continues and Warangal Srinu faces a few more duds, then he might also end up as Abhishek Nama. Comparisons between Abhishek Nama and Warangal Srinu also started in the Nizam area.
