Vijay Deverakonda and dashing director Puri Jagannadh’s much-awaited film ‘Liger’ turned out to be a huge disappointment. The film failed to live up to the expectations and many termed it as the weakest work of Puri Jagannadh till date. Many are wondering how Vijay was so confident during the promotions, especially with a product like ‘Liger’. It ended up as the biggest disaster in Vijay’s career surpassing ‘World Famous Lover’.
The effect of ‘Liger’ is being felt by the team even today. There was an accusation from a Congress leader that a TRS minister invested in ‘Liger’. This led to a lot of debate in the film as well as political circles. Also, there were reports that Vijay gave away six crores from his remuneration to compensate the buyers. Later, it was found that there is no truth behind it and he is away from social media right now.
On the other hand, Puri Jagannadh vacated his Mumbai flat and has to start his discussions with distributors regarding the losses occurred through ‘Liger’. Also, he was forced to shelve ‘Jana Gana Mana’ due to the producers backing out. He has no other hero available other than his own son Akash Puri. He reportedly has plans of making ‘Ismart Shankar 2’ but Ram is not ready after the debacle of ‘The Warriorr’.
Producer Charmme was last seen during the visit to Peddammathali temple. She announced that she is also taking a break from social media and Warangal Seenu who bought Nizam rights claimed that he got 60% losses due to this film. Also, the team tried to back the film by saying that the film was decent barring its climax. It looks like the story of Liger’s after effects may not end soon.
