Movies with a time-traveling concept are always exciting. This fantasy is something everyone has at some point in their lives. When Singeetham Srinivas Rao showcased the time machine in ‘Aditya 369’, the audience were awestruck. No one saw such a movie back then in Telugu. Such movies are quite common in Hollywood and ‘Back To Future’ is one of the most iconic time traveling films. After ‘Aditya 369′, a lot of people thought of making such projects but did not dare to attempt it.
But movies based on this theme have become very popular in recent times. A lot of new filmmakers are using the time travelling concept. Vikram Kumar made ’24’ with Suriya which was very special one for current generation. A movie named ‘Playback’ arrived but it did not interest the audience. Teja Sajja’s ‘Adbutham’ too got a mixed response on the OTT platform. Simbu scored a big hit in the form of ‘Maanadu’. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, this movie was released in Telugu too and got a very good name. This movie is getting remade in Tollywood under Suresh Prodcutions banner. With all these time travelling movies hitting the audience repeatedly, the audience are no longer fascinated by this genre.
Recently, another movie based on ‘Time Loop’ concept arriving in theatres. It is titled ‘Banaras’. The movie revolves around a guy who gets stuck in a time loop when he tries to win back his love. This movie is quite boring according to the reviewers and it is to be seen if the filmmakers give break to time travelling films or not.
Produced by Tilakraj Ballal under the banner of NK Productions, Zaid Khan, son of Karnataka’s 4-times MLA Zameer Ahmed, is making his film debut as a hero while Sonal Monteiro is the leading lady. The cast includes Zaid Khan, Sonal Monteiro, Sujay Shastry, Devaraj, Achyuth Kumar, Sapna Raj, Barkath Ali and others. Ajaneesh Loknath is composing the music while Advaitha Gurumurthy is the cinematographer. Jayathirtha is the writer and director of this film while Raghu Niduvalli penned the dialogues.
