Court Serious Comments On Telangana Govt Vs Governor Row!

The Telangana government and Governor are having some issues due to various reasons. The issues pop up at regular intervals and we get to hear some strong comments from both sides. Recently Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan took part in a debate and slammed the state government for not respecting the Governor’s office.

The power battle between the state government and the Governor reached the Telangana High Court after a petition was filed. A lunch motion petition was filed in the court before the Chief Justice. The bench made some serious comments on the Telangana government vs Governor row.

Asking how the High Court can intervene on this, the bench reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the Governor and asked if the court can serve a notice to her. Saying that if the court intervenes in the work of the Governor they say Court is interfering than required.

The bench accepted the petition that was filed against the Governor for not giving her consent for the introduction of the annual budget in the assembly. Saying that only days left for the introduction of the Assembly, a petition was filed before the bench of the court.

Telangana governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan’s behavior has been getting a negative image. Though Governors developed issues with Chief Ministers in the past too, no Governor gave an interview to a news channel while holding the position.

As if that was not enough she took everyone by surprise by participating in a TV debate. Moreover, she appeared on Republic TV which is known for being in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In the debate, she breathed fire on the Telangana government and asked why the ruling party did not respect the Raj Bhavan.

As another big issue, the Governor did not give her consent to the budget. This time the issue went to the notice of the court. Probably for the first time, a petition was filed against the Governor. Article 361 of the Indian Constitution says “The President, or the Governor or Rajpramukh of a State, shall not be answerable to any court for the exercise and performance of the powers and duties”.
