Releasing special stamps had been a novel way of honoring and remembering legendary personalities. The Reserve Bank Of India also started the practice of printing special coins on famous people as a bid to honour them recognising the valuable contributions they made in their respective fields.
Now it is the turn of legendary actor and former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao to get the honour. The Union Government gave its nod to the request made by NTR’s daughter Daggubati Purandeshwari to print his picture on a 100 rupees coin. The sample was also selected as per the information.
But the news is that there are few specialties of the coin and it costs thousands to get the coin. Along with the coin, interested people will also get a small book that will have all the details of NTR tracing his illustrious journey in films and politics.
As per the media reports, NTR’s special coin might cost around Rs 4160, and interested people can buy the coins at the RBI counter or banks. However, interested people would have to wait for two months so that the coins will be released. Using different metals to print the coins makes it a costly one.
NTR falls under the rare category of personalities who saw success in films and politics as well. NTR left his legacy in the industry as a legendary actor and politician. He defeated the grand old Congress and even forayed into national politics.
However, a few political experts say that BJP is showing respect on NTR for political reasons and the party might be aiming to focus on the TDP’s vote bank in Telangana for the next general elections.
