Adorable beauty Yami Gautham who is well known as the face of ‘Fair & Lovely’ (which is renamed ‘Glow & Lovely now) has worked in a lot of movies till date. After her brief stint in television, she made her film debut with a Kannada movie titled ‘Ullasa Utsaha’ which came back in 2009. Her Punjabi debut was in 2011 with ‘Ek Noor’ and she entered Tollywood with ‘Nuvvila’ in the same year.
Her maiden Hindi movie is ‘Vicky Donor’ which was a super hit. In the same year, she entered the Malayalam film industry with ‘Hero’. She even acted beside Allu Sirish in ‘Gauravam’ back in 2013. She went on to act in two other Telugu projects like ‘Yuddham’ alongside Tharun and ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’ where she romanced Nithin.
The majority of her work was in the Hindi film industry. Starting from ‘Vicky Donor’ to her last outing ‘Lost’, she did 16 films of which a few got commercial success while a few others got critical acclaim. She is a good performer who can do various roles unlike many young Bollywood heroines. Despite all her beauty and talent, the 34-year-old never achieved star status and remained as an underrated heroine.
Recently, a fan wrote on Twitter that all Yami Gautham needs to do is hire better PR agency and it would do wonders to her career. While many netizens agreed to it, Yami Gautham replied, “I see the power of PR heavy activities/reviews/trend/perceptions/image etc which actors are relying on, and I judge no one. But I am a strong believer in ‘YOUR WORK IS YOUR BEST PR’. It’s a longer route but takes you the correct way.” People are appreciating Yami’s sincerity and believing in the righteous path.
Yami Gautham is married to her ‘URI – The Surgical Strike’ director Aditya Dhar in 2021. She is currently working on ‘Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga’ and Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2’.
