But the negative side of the rise of technology is that it has become easy for fraudsters to target the victims and loot money from them.
The fraudsters will be so accurate when they make a call that even educated people cannot sense any danger. Earlier we have seen how retired bank employees were also chated by the fraudsters. Now another issue joined the row as a retired accountant was cheated for a few lakhs. Moreover, he is an elderly person. This shocking incident was reported from the financial capital Mumbai.
Going into details, a 71-year-old retired accountant became the target of the fraudsters by losing around Rs 4.5 lakhs. The reason behind him losing the money came as a surprise for one and all.
The elderly man was approached by fraudsters on the pretext of friendship with girls. Seeing his interest in this, the fraudsters sent him a few pictures of beautiful girls so that he can enjoy himself with them. Falling into the trap, he sent money multiple times.
The retired accountant faced a big shock after realising that he was scammed and he lost Rs 4.5 lakhs in this. Coming out of the shock, he approached the Samtanagar police station and filed a case. The investigation is underway.
The media reports say that the retired accountant in his complaint said that he received a phone call from a woman caller and he was asked if he wants to get in touch with beautiful girls. He received a few pictures as well. Looking at the pictures, he reportedly called back and he fell into the trap.
To meet the girls, the elderly man sent money a few times, and by the time he knew that his bank account is shrinking and he has paid already Rs 4.42 lakh and he is yet to meet the girls, he did not take much time to realise that he was scammed and he moved the Police station.
