Sanna Marin and Markus Raikkonen took to Instagram to share the news in which they said that they have opted for filing a divorce. However, they said that they will remain best friends and parents and spend time together as a family.
While announcing the news, the couple said that they will not talk about the matter and urged everyone to respect their privacy.” We will continue to spend time together as a family and with each other. We hope that you respect our privacy. We will not comment further on the matter,” the couple said in the stories.
Sanna Marin left a big impact as the Prime Minister of the country. During her stint, she took many progressive ideas and also made Finland a NATO member. The Republic of Finland became a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on 4 April 2023. The ongoing Russia-Ukraine war made her ramp up things for this.
She has been featured on BBC’s 100 Women list. Sanna Marin would have achieved more. However, she could not do so as her party lost the elections. She will move out of the office soon and will also step down as the leader of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Marin and Raikkonen tied the knot during the pandemic period when the world struggled with the virus spread in 2020. The couple was blessed with a daughter who is now five years old.
