Public Talk: ‘Chatrapathi’ Team Slammed For Lacklustre Output!

After getting millions of views for his dubbed movies in the Hindi market, Bellamkonda Sreenivas decided to make his full-fledged entry as a hero in Bollywood. Surprisingly, he has decided to remake Rajamouli and Prabhas’ blockbuster film ‘Chatrapathi’ which came out back in 2005. Keeping the same name, he delegated the directorial responsibilities to VV Vinayak who launched him in Telugu as well. A Mahadev helped with the screenplay while Vijayendra Prasad himself helped the team in making the necessary changes.

Despite not making a lot of noise, the movie hit the screens across the country and it looks like the movie is getting criticised heavily for the outdated content. The stale screenplay and uninspiring direction from Vinayak turned the film into a lackluster film without any thrills and entertainment whatsoever. The main reason for the success of ‘Chatrapathi’ in Telugu as Rajamouli’s fantastic taking and the way he presented Prabhas despite the regular content.

The migration, poor turning against the suppressers, mother sentiment and everything worked well as it was quite novel at that time. But the public felt that remaking the film as it is in 2023 is not the right choice at all. Also, a lot of people watched Rajamouli’s film a lot of times before since it was telecasted in Hindi a lot of times. Many say that this remake felt like a dubbed version and had nothing new to offer.

The action parts look way over-the-top and the makers seem to have went all out in terms of kicking out the logic. The violence is quite heavy and the emotion behind all the fights went missing in this version. The music did not elevate the scenes and the performance of Bellamkonda did not help as well. Public stated that he was completely emotionless in sentimental scenes as well. All the camera did was to showcase his popping muscles, six-pack body and cleavage at all times. The songs were misplaced and they lack repeat value as well. The mother character played by Bhagyashri too did not work out. The mother sentiment scenes lacked the purity of the Telugu version. Nushratt looked glamorous but did not have anything to do in the movie.

It looks like Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ attempt to become a Bollywood star seems to have not worked out with ‘Chatrapathi’.
