Om Raut’s mythological drama ‘Adipurush’ has hit the screens this weekend. Featuring Prabhas as lord Shri Ram, this movie which shows the story of Ramayana has received mixed response from the audience as well as critics. The poor visual quality, subpar graphics, artificial outlook, weird styling of main characters and cinematic liberties turned out to be a major disappointment in the film.
But a Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi is severely upset with the film’s dialogue writer. She demanded the dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir to apologise to everyone for shaming Ramayana. She said, “The dialogue writer of Adipurush @manojmuntashir as well as the director should apologise to the nation for the pedestrian dialogues written for the movie, especially for Lord Hanuman. It hurts every Indian’s sensibilities to see the kind of language being attributed to our revered gods in the name of entertainment. You make a movie on Maryada Purushottam Ram and cross all boundaries of Maryada for quick box office success is unacceptable.”
Prior to the film’s release, a lot of politicians warned the makers when the teaser came out. Many thought that the Ramayana will be distorted by the film’s unit and it looks like ‘Adipurush’ team have definitely hurt the sentiments of a lot of people now.
With the runtime being a minute less than three hours, we need to wait and see how the movie turns out. While the collections are huge, the criticism is also quite heavy on the movie. The look of Saif Ali Khan as Ravana is being subjected to a lot of criticism. T-Series produced the movie while Om Raut directed it. Prabhas was seen as Lord Ram while Kriti Sanon played the role of Sira in this magnum opus.
