She has the tagline of YSR’s daughter. However, she is yet to prove herself politically. She did not even win the elections. She is none other than YS Sharmila, chief of YSRTP who is trying her luck in Telangana politics. Though she went on a padayatra, many say that there is no direction for that.
It is said that she has many political interests. She is hoping to do politics in Telangana. Sharmila is said to be hoping to become a Minister by contesting as an MLA. She is reportedly planning to merge her party into Congress to fulfill this.
However, earlier Sharmila rubbished the rumors of her party’s merger into Congress. She even asked if she went on a padayatra to merge her party. On the other hand, it is strongly reported that her party would be merged. Priyanka Gandhi is said to be dealing with the issue.
Now it is believed that there might not be a merger. It is reported that she might ally with Congress and demand some seats. Sharmila is said to have demanded as many as 20 seats and four from Khammam alone.
A discussion on how much strength the party has in the state was started amid this. Despite Sharmila touring the state vigorously, not even one key leader joined the party. Revanth Reddy’s camp is saying that Sharmila’s party doesn’t even have one percent votes.
Sharmila has no strength and she herself showed interest in joining hands with Congress. Congress leaders are reportedly asking how she can put forth conditions after coming forward to join Congress. They also question how the Congress party would benefit from Sharmila. It would benefit Sharmila, not the Congress party, say many.
Many wonder if Sharmila is seeing herself as a big name. The Congress party’s graph increased recently. The Congress party is not taking the elections lightly this time and is making sure that no mistake happens. It is said that the party is also ready to join hands with the small parties and it is not ready to lose the elections.
This is said to be the reason for the Congress party processing YS Sharmila’s request up to a limit. Congress high command will decide how to use the services of leaders. It is said that Congress leaders are slowly becoming silent on the issue as Sharmila is saying her conditions should be accepted and her party is creating suspense on merger and alliance.
Many say that the negative trend of BRS would benefit Congress. They are also mentioning the example of the recent Karnataka elections. JDS is the third party there. But voters gave a big mandate to Congress. It might not be a wonder if the Congress High Command thinks that parties wanting to ally should not be denied and parties that put forth demands should be ignored.
