“Dhruva Natchathiram,” a much-anticipated spy thriller starring Chiyaan Vikram and directed by Gautam Menon, has faced numerous delays due to financial issues. Although the shooting concluded long ago, the movie couldn’t hit the screens because of unresolved financial matters.
Gautam Menon needed over 50 crore rupees to settle the film’s financial obligations with the financiers. To resolve this, he announced a release date, unveiled the trailer, and expected that non-theatrical deals would bring in the required funds.
Negotiations for digital and satellite rights with Netflix and Kalaignar TV, respectively, seemed promising initially, raising hopes that the financial hurdles would be cleared for the film’s scheduled release on November 24th.
However, recent reports indicate that the financial problems persist. It appears that the deals for the movie are yet to be finalized, and ongoing negotiations might cause another delay in its release. If Gautam Menon doesn’t secure the full amount from non-theatrical deals within the next few days, there’s a high likelihood of postponement.
“Dhruva Natchathiram” features Vikram as an Indian spy, alongside Ritu Varma, Simran, Aishwarya Rajesh, Radhika, Jailor Vinayakan, and Arjun Das in significant roles. Originally shot in 2016, the film was initially slated for release in 2017 but has been delayed for years. Vikram’s fans, eagerly waiting for seven years, might have to wait a little longer, possibly another seven days, for the film’s much-awaited premiere.
