In a unique move to celebrate his father, veteran actor Mohan Babu’s birthday, Vishnu Manchu unveiled “Kannappa Story Book Volume 1,” a comic book adaptation of the legendary tale of Bhakta Kannappa.

Speaking at the launch event, Vishnu Manchu expressed his passion for the project: “I wanted everyone to know about this story. The comic book, much like the movie, was my dream to reach the most stirring story I had ever read to the world. I wanted young people to own their history and I felt this was a great start to start owning our roots. This was not a monetary endeavor for me. I was emotionally attached to the story and I wanted the world to be inspired by the grit and devotion of Kannappa.”
The “Kannappa” film itself is being directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and boasts an impressive crew. Renowned Hollywood cinematographer Sheldon Chau, acclaimed action director Kecha Khamphakdee, and celebrated dance maestro Prabhu Deva bring their expertise to the project.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the launch event was graced by the presence of the esteemed actor Dr. Mohanlal as the chief guest. Mr. Mukesh Rishi also attended the birthday celebrations held at Mohan Babu University.
