Chiyaan Vikram, the versatile actor, has recently opened up about his script selection process and future projects. His latest film, ‘Thangalaan’, a period drama set to release in Hindi on September 6th, has garnered positive reviews and commercial success in the South.
Vikram emphasized his desire to avoid monotony in his roles, stating that he strives to offer his fans unique and diverse experiences. He expressed his hope that ‘Thangalaan’ will resonate with Hindi audiences, following the success of his previous films ‘Aparichitudu’ and ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. Vikram also expressed his willingness to explore Hindi film opportunities if suitable scripts come his way.
The actor expressed his pride in the critical and commercial success of ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, which won four National awards. While he acknowledged his disappointment in not receiving a personal award, he praised Mani Ratnam’s exceptional work on the film. Vikram believes that ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ will be etched in the history books.
Regarding his collaboration with SS Rajamouli, Vikram confirmed that discussions are underway. He expressed his admiration for Rajamouli’s talent and stated that they are both waiting for the right script to come along.
Reflecting on his career, Vikram admitted that ‘Cobra’ was the most challenging film he has undertaken. Despite its commercial underperformance, he found personal satisfaction in the project, emphasizing that some films are appreciated for their artistic value rather than their box office success.
