K.T. Rama Rao, working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former minister, recently lauded N. Chandrababu Naidu, the TDP national president and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, for his remarkable vision and unwavering commitment to development.
In his address to the media, KTR highlighted Naidu’s early foresight in bringing the global Formula One motor racing event to Hyderabad. Naidu initiated the proposal in 2001, even meeting with Bernie Ecclestone, the then CEO of Formula 1, to personally assure him of his full support for hosting the prestigious event in Hyderabad. Naidu envisioned transforming the city into a hub for international motorsport. As part of this effort, he directed the acquisition of 580 acres near Gopannapalli for the construction of a permanent Formula 1 racing track. Unfortunately, the project did not materialize due to various reasons.
KTR also acknowledged Naidu’s pioneering role in the establishment of Genome Valley, a project that transformed Turkapalli into a global center for biotechnology. Initiated in 2001, Genome Valley has earned Hyderabad the recognition of being the “Vaccine Hub of the World,” a testament to Naidu’s forward-thinking leadership.
KTR’s remarks underscored the immense dedication and vision that Naidu has consistently demonstrated throughout his career. His strategic approach to governance, combined with his humility, has solidified his reputation as a stalwart of development and problem-solving. Recognition from across political divides further highlights Naidu’s legacy of service, which spans over four decades.
