Nara Lokesh Dismisses Deputy CM Talk, Focuses on Education Reforms

Andhra Pradesh politics are often marked by dramatic developments, and the latest is the growing demand from certain TDP leaders for Nara Lokesh to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. However, when the topic was brought up in a recent interview with Lokesh in Davos, his response was notably dismissive.

While he didn’t give a direct “yes” or “no” answer, Lokesh explained the practical challenges of such a move. When a national media outlet asked him about the political discussions surrounding his potential promotion to the deputy CM position, Lokesh responded, “I have my hands full right now with my duties as the education minister. My primary focus is on reforming the education sector and implementing the Andhra model of KG-PG education.”

He further emphasized the larger vision, stating, “We are all working towards Naidu’s dream of creating a trillion-dollar economy for Andhra Pradesh. In the midst of such a grand ambition, every other issue takes a backseat. I’m not concerned about this speculation. I believe everything is politically settled for now.”

By cleverly steering the conversation back to his current responsibilities, Lokesh avoided directly addressing the power shift and chose to highlight his commitment to education reforms. It’s a strategic way of sidestepping a question that carries significant political weight while reaffirming his focus on his present role.
