A R Rahman Lifted From ‘I’?

The concept of plagiarism and freemakes has been in vogue at the entertainment industry since quite a while and most of the times, the roots of inspiration come from Hollywood or world cinema. Sometimes these become big issues but most of the times they are exempted.
While all this is fine, things take a serious turn when a top grade celebrity does an act of copying. This is the reason why some discussions are happening on social networking sites over the Madras Mozart A R Rahman lifting a tune for his recent venture ‘I’.
They are talking about the song ‘Poolane kunukeyyamantaa…’. Apparently, they say that the BGM for ‘Poolane…’ seems to be a straight lift of the BGM from the chartbuster Hindi song ‘Teri galiyaan…’ from the hit movie ‘Ek Villain’. Though Rahman fans are quashing it as a mere cook-up, some are saying it is not fully lifted but some tune has been lifted for sure. Only time will decide whether this issue will become big or just cool down.
