Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has voiced his disappointment over the recurring doubts surrounding his patriotism and integrity. In a recent interview, the actor shared his frustration, saying that despite dedicating much of his career to socially relevant cinema and philanthropic initiatives, some people continue to question his love for the nation.
Aamir highlighted that he has been involved in numerous projects aimed at nation-building, including films rooted in themes of patriotism and social awareness. He also hosted the acclaimed television show Satyamev Jayate, which shed light on pressing societal issues and aimed to inspire change. Additionally, through his NGO Paani Foundation, Aamir has actively worked toward the development of rural areas and the upliftment of communities affected by drought and water scarcity.
“Despite all that I’ve done over the past 30 years—whether it’s films, shows, or grassroots work—people still question my intentions. I challenge anyone to name another actor who has contributed in as many ways to the country as I have,” Aamir said.
Over the past few years, the actor has faced backlash on social media during the release of each of his films. A section of users repeatedly question his patriotism, often bringing his religion into the conversation and trolling him online.
Now, all eyes are on his upcoming release Sitaare Zameen Par, scheduled to hit theatres on June 20. It remains to be seen how audiences, particularly that critical section of netizens, will receive the film.
