AAP MPs Set to Merge with BJP in Rajya Sabha Shock Move

The Rajya Sabha witnessed a major political development as reports emerged of a proposed merger between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MPs and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

According to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, the announcement was made alongside MPs Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak, stating that a significant portion of AAP’s Rajya Sabha members have decided to merge with the BJP, invoking provisions under the Constitution of India.

“We have decided that we, the two-thirds members belonging to the AAP in Rajya Sabha, exercise the provisions of the Constitution of India and merge ourselves with the BJP,” Chadha reportedly said.

The development comes amid speculation over internal party differences, with earlier indications suggesting growing distance between Raghav Chadha and the AAP leadership. Reports also suggest that the party had recently informed the Rajya Sabha Chairman not to recognize Chadha as its representative or allot him speaking time in the House.

Subsequently, heightened security arrangements for Chadha by the Union government had fueled further speculation about a possible political shift.

With this reported move, AAP’s presence in the Rajya Sabha is set to diminish significantly, while the BJP is expected to gain further strength in the Upper House.
