Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently lining up multiple projects, but one of his upcoming films has hit a temporary delay—not due to script issues, but because of scheduling challenges. The senior star is set to collaborate with two promising young directors, Vivek Athreya and Vijay Kanakamedala. While the project with Vijay is expected to move ahead smoothly, the film with Vivek Athreya is facing a slight hold-up.

The delay is reportedly due to the availability of Mohanlal, who is expected to play a key role in the film. The Malayalam superstar is currently busy with multiple commitments, and it may take a couple of months before he can allocate dates. Once his schedule clears, the Balakrishna–Vivek Athreya project is likely to begin immediately.

This combination has already sparked curiosity. Vivek Athreya, known for his distinct storytelling style, impressed audiences with films like Ante Sundaraniki and recently delivered a strong success with Saripodhaa Sanivaaram. His unique narrative approach, when paired with Balakrishna’s powerful mass image, promises an interesting blend.

Meanwhile, Balakrishna is enjoying a solid commercial phase with back-to-back hits like Akhanda, Veera Simha Reddy, and Bhagavanth Kesari, which have reinforced his mass appeal at the box office. Alongside his film commitments, he is also actively managing his political responsibilities, making his schedule quite packed.

On the other hand, his project with Vijay Kanakamedala—known for films like Naandhi and Ugram—is expected to be more intense and performance-driven, with Balakrishna likely to be seen in a police officer role.
