Tamil cinema continues to witness a wave of directors transitioning to acting, with Tourist Family director Abishan Jeevinth being the latest to make the leap. According to industry sources, Abishan is all set to headline a new film titled Corrected Machi, marking his debut as a lead actor.
Though an official announcement is awaited, reports suggest that the project is currently in the early stages of development. Interestingly, the film will be helmed by one of Abishan’s close associates, who previously served as the co-director on Tourist Family.
Adding to the anticipation, rising star Anaswara Rajan has been roped in to play the female lead. Known for her notable performances in Super Sharanya and Thugs, Anaswara is steadily gaining a foothold in Tamil cinema, and her inclusion has further heightened expectations for the project.
With this move, Abishan joins an expanding list of Tamil filmmakers exploring on-screen roles. Notably, Pradeep Ranganathan found success with his acting debut in Love Today, while director Lokesh Kanagaraj has also expressed interest in acting, with his debut currently in the pipeline.
Details surrounding Corrected Machi—including its genre, plot, and supporting cast—are being kept under wraps for now. The film is expected to go on floors soon, with the full cast and technical team to be officially revealed in the coming weeks.
