Nandamuri Balakrishna’s iconic sci-fi film Aditya 369 is set to make a grand comeback with a 4K re-release in theaters on April 4th. Directed by the legendary Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, the film was originally released in 1991 and became India’s first-ever time-travel movie, earning a special place in Telugu cinema history.
More than three decades later, the film has been digitally remastered, and the newly released theatrical trailer has reignited nostalgia among fans. Balakrishna’s powerful portrayal of Sri Krishnadevaraya, Singeetam’s imaginative storytelling, and Ilaiyaraaja’s timeless music continue to make Aditya 369 a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience.
The film also features a stellar cast, including Mohini, Amrish Puri, Tinnu Anand, Silk Smita, Subhalekha Sudhakar, and Suthi Velu. It was produced by S. Anitha Krishna and presented by legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam (SPB).
For years, fans have eagerly anticipated the sequel, Aditya 999, which was rumored to feature Balakrishna alongside his son Mokshagna. However, the project has been put on hold for reasons unknown. Despite this, the re-release of Aditya 369 is a golden opportunity for audiences to relive the magic of this sci-fi masterpiece on the big screen once again.
