A children’s film titled Aditya will be screened on Saturday, the opening day of the 19th Children’s Film Festival in Hyderabad. The Sudhakar Goud-directed film is about a junior scientist. “The film has got tax exemption from both the Telangana state and Andhra Pradesh governments,” says Sudhakar, adding that it was selected from 1,300 films sent to the festival.

He says that the film is not part of the competition category (Gold Elephant). “It is about a boy called Aditya who gets a national award for his inventions and some corporate and mafia gangs try to stop him,” says Sudhakar. The film had released recently in both Telugu states. “It is about a junior scientist, but adult stars like Ashish Vidyarthi, Brahmanandam, M.S. Narayana and others are there in the film,” says Sudhakar.

The film also touches upon the importance of protecting animals, mainly at railway crossings and also deals with suicide. “Suicide is not the answer to depression. I have shown in the film that people like Abdul Kalam and Ambedkar came from poor families and became internationally acclaimed,” says Sudhakar.
